Turks and Caicos
If your vacation or destination wedding requires and Island with perfect beaches and luxurious private experiences, you may want to make your way down to the Turks and Caicos Islands. This stunning island destination is slightly east of the Bahamas and easy to get to, but feels worlds away from it all.
Action and Adventure
Made up of forty different islands and cays, the Turks and Caicos Islands only have eight islands that are inhabited. Providenciales is the largest island and the tourist hub for the destination. It is also the most populated of the islands, home to the major airport, a fabulous inclusive resort with something for everyone, numerous tourist attractions, casinos, golf AND one of the beast beaches in the world… Grace Bay.
While Turks and Caicos is home to stunning beaches and even more stunning water, it isn’t just a pretty beach. You can enjoy ATV adventures, cave expeditions, and nature reserves.
With a Touch of Solitude
The two largest islands, North and Middle Caicos are connected by road and do offer some excellent and unique experiences, like Wild Cow Run Beach, and the Conch Bar Caves, but if you really want the ultimate Turks and Caicos experience, you will have to be willing to go just a bit further.
What really sets Turks and Caicos apart from the rest of the Caribbean though are the accessible uninhabited islands.
Turks is one of the few destinations where you can have an island all to yourself for a day. We definitely recommend booking a private island excursion for a day during your vacation. One of our favorite vacation memories is the day we spent snorkeling and free diving for conch during a visit to French Cay. French Cay is the outermost southern islands in Turks. It is also the only island that you can’t view another island from. French Cay is uninhabited and serves as a bird sanctuary. A day spent here offers fantastic snorkeling and diving, white sand beaches and even a pirate history! We spent the day exploring and feeling like we were the only people on earth.
Romance Abounds
Turks and Caicos is also one of our favorite destinations for honeymoons and weddings. If powdery white sand and bright blue turquoise water don’t make the perfect romantic backdrop then we don’t know what will. In fact one of our top favorite all-inclusive wedding resort is located on Grace Bay!
To Sum It Up
Turks and Caicos offers more than just beaches, but it is also the ultimate beach destination. There is excellent diving and almost every water sport imaginable. If you are going to spend a day on the beach or in the water Turks is where you want to be.
When you vacation in Turks you really do feel like you’ve finally gotten away from it all. But without sacrificing all of the amenities you need for the best island vacation, family trip, honeymoon or wedding experience.
